Whether you’re getting married in a church, or having a civil, humanist, or civil partnership ceremony, on a beach, or somewhere else special to you, I aim to photograph your day and provide you with the story of your wedding, honestly and without interference. You may have heard of ‘documentary’ wedding photographers. That describes me perfectly. It is your day and I won’t change a thing about it!
I usually arrive an hour before the bride leaves for the ceremony, and from then on Iโm like a fly on the wall wherever the Bride and Groom are. Sometimes I hope to be invisible, for instance, during the ceremony. At other times youโll be aware of my presence, like when Iโm photographing the official portraits of the newly married couple. But Iโm never โin your faceโ and carry multiple lenses so I maintain my distance when needed. Even if you hate to be photographed, Iโll be taking pictures without you knowing, keeping you relaxed and looking good.
I like to keep the formal group shots to a minimum, but always find time for a large group photo of everyone. I also mingle with the guests, photographing them chatting, laughing and of course, celebrating the happy couple.
Iโll stay for the speeches (the photos of the reaction to whatโs being said can be priceless!) and the first few dances.
By the time the Bride and Groom are back from their honeymoon Iโll have anywhere between 100 and 300 photos edited and improved, ready for delivery (in whichever delivery format they choose) and then thereโs time to order and design an album, or a presentation box of prints.ย
